Passion for the Day:
Designing a Website!
x

Quite a few Saturdays ago, Ainsley took me on an awesome 3-part date.
And seeing how we haven't had a proper date in ages.. This was refreshing ♥

Can you guess what we did?

Part 1
We started the afternoon at a Couple's Spa @ The House of Traditional Balinese Massage
It is just a short drive from my place at Rifle Range - next to Valentino.
We had our own private room - started off with a soak in the jacuzzi (really wanted to try the milk bath!). Subsequently, you can choose to either have a 30 min body scrub/ginger wrap or a full 90 min body massage.
I chose a 30 min body scrub & 60 min massage while Ains had a hour half long massage by a burping therapist!! I hear it is to expel the bad 'qi' they absorb from massaging you.. don't know how true :x

All in all, it was a fantastic 2 hour long rejuvenation - one that we desperately needed after our horrid week!
Thank you baby ♥

Part 2
Refreshed & scrubbed clean, we grabbed a quick dinner at Bukit Timah Food Centre under Edwin's recommendation.
The pork ribs are awesome to the max~~ I'm craving the sauce even thinking about it.
According to Edwin, he would be contented eating that for the rest of his life... hahaha..let's see you try!
Please everybody go and try it!!! Yums~ Ask me where if you're interested!

Part 3
Our last stop for the evening was a graffiti event along Keppel Road
It was held at a warehouse along the coast - it was so ulu we thought we were lost!
Nonetheless, we somehow made our way there and whee, are we glad we did!

This was the sight we were presented with even before we entered.
Live presentation by Singapore & French artists. And a talented bunch they are.

It looks easy - but to spray such exact lines and shapes.... and being able to shade as well - with a spray can no less - is definitely a huge feat!!

Taken outside the warehouse (Super good lighting! Shiny & White!)

How white and bright the inside looks like - with three large rooms for different presentations by different artists. There was a room for Singapore-bred souls!

A quick glance at my favorite pieces (: Ains liked how the skull piece had an actual knuckle duster on it! I always enjoy myself at art events - I may not know much about it but just being able to interpret whatever nonsense I can conjure is always great fun. heh. Like there was a piece with heaps of letters on them - we raced to see if we could find the alphabet - I think we gave up after 'G'. See, art can be fun!

This particular piece took the words right outta my mouth! I've always believed in being your own - and not blindly following trends. I wore what I liked, whenever I liked. And recently, I've been fiddling with ways to share this idea with others. Every time I see a generic outfit, I feel sorry for that poor soul which has been sucked in to fashion oblivion. Don't just be another trend follower - be a face in the crowd. Don't be afraid of being different, being noticed, being criticized even.. Being different is what gets you places - See Lady Gaga. Would her music be as rad if not coupled with her unpredictable outfits? I'm a bit on a ramble here but as much as I'm a fan of Kurt Cobain, I'm disappointed to see him DIE just cos he wanted to be part of the 27 Club. Don't conform to something just to feel included, you might just end up killing yourself.

Well, back to shiny & white - This is my favorite piece for the night. I've always been more of a words person rather than an artist. Please don't ask me to draw - although I do draw a mean pig :p
Anyway, this struck me cos of the words, and it was fun trying to figure it out - plus point - the girls look hot.

Besides the crappy wine they were serving & a redbull van parked outside, the caterer was really different! Everything came in squares - even the appetizers. We couldn't figure out what the appetizers were - I'm quite sure one was salmon mush! And some appetizers came in mini ice cream cones! The above is desserts - chocolate mousse with a frothy icing thingy and FRUITS! Yes, those bright orange/red squares are actually sweet watermelon & honeydew. Who would have guessed? Pretty ingenious. Guess we just gotta think outta the box more often!

Told you it was in ulu land. We decided to snap some shots since it was quite a pretty place.
I enjoyed myself so much that day ♥ Thank you Ainsley!! Love dates like this ~ MORE PLEASE!

Never let me go.

Bloody Hell, I Wish I Could Paint!
