Days Till Kool Korea ♥

Sushi Fiesta
Monday, 30 January 2012

Hi guys, I'm back!

So two weeks before Ainsley left, we had a sushi weekend and sushi-stuffed ourselves to the brim!
I know this is a bit of a japanese overload - since my previous entry not so long ago was also about sushi!

This is us - totally un-japanized yet - before entering a little eatery we found online.

Hachi Tei!
Food is amazing.
Lady boss is enthusiastic and friendly.
Affordable prices.
Chill environment.
Not packed like sardines on a Friday night!
Totally recommended!!

We started off with the mandatory salmon sashimi that was really fresh and creamy!!

Next up: Chawanmushi - must have!!
It's some how extremely yummy and better than other places!! AHH!! and it has like a sweet juicy shrimp inside (:

This is another confirm-plus-chop must order - Spicy salmon handroll.
It is not on the menu ;) creamy and they freaking fill the salmon all the way down the roll can? They don't cheat your $$$!!!

We ordered a unagi set just cos I love unagi and can't have a jap meal without one.
It wasn't fantastic - Ains liked it though. I've had better! (See below!) But the piece is huge - again, they don't cheat your $$$!!!

Last but not least, homemade black sesame ice cream! Silly Ainsley wanted one haha it was good if you liked that kinda thing. hah! Not my kinda thing.

So that summed up our food adventures for Friday night. The next night, I really can't remember what we did the whole day... I think we were shopping haha! yes, we were shopping. We were suppose to head out to JB to have seafood (if you read my previous entries, you know I was looking forward to that!) but you know girls and their fickle minds. I craved Japanese AGAIN!

So, we trooped down to our favourite haunt at International Building.

Basically, you sit in front of the chef and it is omakase-style! And this are all the different sushis we had:

This includes uni (sea urchin), pufferfish, scallop, oysters, roe, sashimi, tuna belly and abalone!
I hate uni, but the unagi is to die for!! I love it! Also, the third picture on the left column is one of their 'hit' sushis - forgot what it is but it's damn amazing.

Yums. Both places are definitely worth going down to! (:

Bloody Hell, Sushi-Stuffed!
